Khitma.net
A group Quran-reading platform used by 200K+ people, with more than 500M verses read collectively.
The case in five moves
Khitma.net turns a shared spiritual intention into a simple group practice that people can begin, divide, and complete together.
- Constraint
- A group wanted to complete a Quran reading together, but coordinating parts and tracking progress across people created friction.
- Leverage point
- Make the group, the distribution of parts, and visible progress the product’s core objects.
- What was built
- A lightweight web product for creating one-time or recurring group readings, assigning Quran parts, and following collective progress.
- Evidence
- The live product has reached 200K+ overall users, with more than 500M verses read collectively.
- What I learned
- Community technology can remain quiet. The strongest interface removes coordination work and leaves attention with the shared practice itself.
Product note
Khitma.net began with a quiet coordination problem: a group wanted to complete a Quran reading together, but somebody still had to divide the parts and keep track of progress.
The product keeps that coordination visible and simple. A person creates a one-time or recurring group, shares it, and participants can see what remains without moving the shared practice into a complicated workflow.
Its reach matters, but the product principle matters more: technology should remove the administrative burden and leave attention with the act people came to perform together.
